Production File Upload &
Media Processing Engine

A high-performance storage architecture featuring Direct Cloudflare R2 Presigned S3 uploads, 5MB binary chunked resumable transfers with simulated network interruption recovery, and asynchronous media transformation workers that save up to 82% bandwidth.

Direct-to-R2 Presigned Uploads

App servers never become memory bottlenecks. React Router server issues cryptographic presigned PUT URLs, allowing clients to stream raw binaries directly to Cloudflare R2 at full line speed.

Resumable Chunking & Disconnect Recovery

Files are partitioned into 5MB chunks with SHA-256 integrity verification. Test connection drops with the interactive simulator and watch uploads seamlessly auto-resume from the last byte offset.

TUS Protocol • Auto-Retry Jitter

Asynchronous Media Transformations

Automated background queue pipeline handles lossy/lossless WebP encoding, next-gen AVIF compression, multi-size responsive thumbnails, and Blurhash strings saving 70%+ bandwidth.

System Architecture

Direct Cloud Storage & Background Processing Pipeline

Designed for high concurrency, zero web server memory bottlenecks, and automated network disconnect recovery.

01

1. Presigned Authorization

Client requests authenticated S3 PUT URL from React Router server. Zero file bytes pass through web server.

02

2. 5MB Binary Slicing & Direct R2 Upload

Large files are split into 5MB chunks. Each chunk is streamed directly to Cloudflare R2 bucket with checksum verification.

03

3. Postgres Chunk Offset Tracking

Each uploaded chunk index is committed to PostgreSQL Neon. If connection drops, transfers resume without restarting.

04

4. Asynchronous Queue Processing

On upload completion, background workers generate WebP/AVIF conversions (-74% bandwidth) and multi-scale srcset thumbnails.
